Postcard Art Exhibit (Formerly, Twitter Art Exhibit)
Sep 2020 - Present
Operations in UK, Norway and USA
Postcard Art Exhibit, (formerly named, Twitter Art Exhibit) is an annual art exhibition that is the combined effort of a team of volunteers sponsoring a different charity each year.
Postcard Art Exhibit's exhibitions utilize social media and public engagement to support charities and nonprofits worldwide. Postcard Art Exhibit has helped to sustain a library suffering from deep funding cuts to purchase much-needed children's books. Also, an abused women's shelter to improve the lives of the families they serve. And an arts organization mentoring underprivileged young adults in preparation for careers in the visual arts and many other worthy causes.
-
Postcard Art Exhibit reaches out to artists on social media.
-
Artists worldwide respond to our call, create and send postcard-sized, original artwork for the exhibition.
-
A local, physical showcasing of the art is displayed at a different venue and often in a new country each year.
-
The public is invited to the exhibition to purchase original art to support the chosen beneficiary.
-
Out of participating, Postcard Art Exhibit artists receive new exhibition opportunities, new audiences, benefactors, and appeal to art enthusiasts worldwide.
I began as a volunteer member of the board of directors in charge of Website Design, Technical Support, Events Registration, and Administration for Artists and Sponsors. These roles eventually evolved into Treasurer and Executive Director of Postcard Art Exhibit.
Sep 2012 - Present
Petaluma, CA
Plein Air Liaison operates plein air painting mini-workshops, workshop tours, classes, and events in various locations in and around Petaluma, in most regions of California, and several areas throughout the USA and abroad. I, therefore WE, are committed to fostering the plein air community within our local community and overseas through mutual cultural exchange. I'm also committed to engaging and inspiring others with a personalized approach and with a particularly strong emphasis on low impact travel so as not to be "intrusive tourists." I have extremely high operating standards for providing socially responsible tours and a dedication to sustainable tourism.
Our various workshops, demonstrations, lectures, tours, and classes provide our students with generous training by experienced professional artists.
Our primary focus is on painting from life. Our workshops take place on location painting landscapes, seascapes, village, town or city scenes, and a model or still-life outdoors. In case of inclement weather, we'll either have indoor models or still-life setups with either artificial or natural light or a sheltered outdoor area for protection.
I, along with our other PAL instructors and Guest Instructors, strive to teach newcomers as well as experienced painters their approach to painting en plein air. We concentrate on working individually with students to maximize individual learning. Students come away more aware of surroundings, the effect of light and its movement, color shifts of warm and cool, and how design occurs naturally. Our instructors’ focus is utilizing value, color, soft and hard edges, using the correct color palette for the conditions of the day and time, simplifying nature and seeing the big shapes, and various visual approaches to aid in producing a successful painting.
Each year, the six issues focus on premium global artworks, including prominent American, Russian, and European paintings, sculptures, and objects of fine art. Responsibilities include attending events, collecting event information from galleries, museums, and photographing for En Couleur and La Galerie sections.

Working one-on-one with classically trained master painters to coordinate and design a custom-tailored workshop/tour to fit their needs while ensuring that the attendees' needs were being met and that their accommodations were comfortable and enjoyable.
Provided the student with the highest caliber instruction, but also inspiration and a maintained level of excitement for painting that would carry them far beyond their workshop experience.
Looked after the travel arrangements of the attendees and instructor and guided them through their journey while endeavoring to ensure that their stay, locally or abroad, was a pleasant and smooth experience.
